Scott Guthrie, creator of ASP.NET and Microsoft's AJAX boss who is in charge of he company's rich internet applications strategy, including Silverlight, talked to SYS-CON.TV about AJAX, Web 2.0 and developers' expectations from a rich internet application development platform. Guthrie is a general manager within Microsoft's developer division.

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight offers a flexible programming model that supports AJAX, VB, C#, Python, and Ruby, and integrates with existing Web applications. Silverlight supports fast, cost-effective delivery of high-quality video to all major browsers running on the Mac OS or Windows.
Upcoming AJAXWorld Conference & Expo 2007 West will offer a dedicated track for Silverlight.
