Aspera (http://asperasoft.com/), Inc., creators of next-generation software technologies that move the world’s data at maximum speed, will be sharing its vision for enabling the cloud at a series of events taking place in the U.S. over the coming weeks.
Cloud Expo, November 5-8, Santa Clara, CA (http://cloudcomputingexpo.com/)
On November 8, president, CEO and co-founder of Aspera, Michelle Munson, will be speaking on ‘Transforming cloud infrastructure to support big data.’ Michelle’s presentation will discuss principles of cloud object stores, using examples of Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, and performance benchmarks of their native HTTP I/O. She’ll share best practices in orchestrating complex, large-scale big data workflows. She’ll also examine the requirements and challenges of IT infrastructure designs (on-premise, cloud or hybrid), including high-speed transport technologies and high-performance NAS.
On November 6, Aspera’s director of cloud platforms and services, Jay Migliaccio, will be participating in a panel on object storage for big data. He’ll join Tom Leyden, director of alliances and marketing at object storage innovator Amplidata, and speakers from Quantum, Intel, Panzura and StorageMojo to discuss this new storage paradigm designed for massive volumes of unstructured data, drawing on Aspera’s experience with Amazon S3 and expertise in the media and entertainment and life sciences industries.
Throughout the event Aspera will demonstrate its Aspera On Demand (http://cloud.asperasoft.com/aspera-on-demand/) solutions that unlock the cloud for big data applications. Cloud Expo is one of the world’s leading cloud event held in California, New York, Prague, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Cloud Computing West, November 8-9, Santa Monica, CA (http://www.cloudcomputingassn.org/events/T1204/overview.html)
On November 8, Migliaccio will be participating in a panel with representatives from IBM and Gaikai to discuss whether the cloud is more important to content creation or storage delivery, the role of internet service providers, and the risk profiles and ROI projection for organizations in this space. On November 9, he’ll join speakers from Extreme Reach and DataDirect Networks to discuss how the industry can address concerns around security, downtime, access, dependency and interoperability, and how it can further capitalize on the cloud’s positive attributes.
Aspera will demonstrate its Aspera On Demand cloud solutions throughout the event, which focuses on the latest advances in applying cloud-based solutions to all aspects of entertainment content production, storage and delivery.
Compute Midwest, November 9, Kansas City, MO (http://www.computemidwest.com/)
At this exciting two-day technology event, Aspera’s Munson will be joining an all-star line up of inspirational technology leaders from companies including Google, Joyent and Box. She’ll be sharing her vision for the future of technology as well as her experience in building a unique company, which has been profitable since the day it was founded, has no debt or VC investment, and boasts more than 1800 customers.
AWS re: Invent, November 27-29, Las Vegas, NV (https://reinvent.awsevents.com/)
At Amazon Web Service’s (AWS) first global customer and partner conference Aspera will showcase Aspera On Demand for AWS (http://cloud.asperasoft.com/aspera-on-demand/aspera-on-demand-for-amazon-web-services/), the world’s first solution to offer seamless, line-speed ingest and distribution of very large media files to and from the AWS S3 service, independent of distance, and with complete security.
UP 2012 Cloud Computing Conference, December 12, San Francisco, CA (http://up-con.com/)
