BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/31/12 -- SendGrid, the leader in email deliverability, today announced that it is among the first ten companies selected by Microsoft for inclusion in its Windows Azure Store. Launching today, the Windows Azure Store allows any developer building web applications on Windows Azure to quickly and seamlessly add a range of third-party technologies and functionality to their applications.
The Windows Azure cloud platform is widely used to build and deliver innovative web applications to customers. Many of these applications rely on transactional email to confirm registrations, process order purchases or send friend or follower requests. By using SendGrid as part of the Windows Azure Store, developers can avoid the complexity of maintaining a proprietary transactional email solution and the cost of assigning developer resources to manage it.
"Windows Azure gives developers an open cloud platform for building, deploying, and managing applications," said Scott Guthrie, Corporate Vice President, Windows Azure, Microsoft. "We are pleased to welcome SendGrid to the Windows Azure Store and look forward to giving developers access to SendGrid's transactional email delivery service for their applications."
"Our integration with leading cloud platforms like Windows Azure aligns with our core mission to make email easy for developers and to make SendGrid accessible everywhere," said Jim Franklin, CEO, SendGrid. "We've worked closely with Microsoft since our introduction into the Windows Azure marketplace earlier this year. Our inclusion as part of the Windows Azure Store empowers developers to use SendGrid directly from their Windows Azure environment with unified billing and custom documentation libraries, making transactional email management simple and easy for Windows Azure developers."
